My Influences

I continue my life-long apprenticeship to what the Land, animals, plants, stars, planets, and my ancestors have to teach me.

Their wisdom is the golden thread that holds my tapestry of knowledge together.

I also continue to walk my own inner journey, doing my own work, which leads me to some fascinating places to learn (I am typically studying 3-4 books at the same time). Because of this, my personal studies are multidisciplinary - it truly feels as if I am weaving my own tapestry of wisdom.

In addition to my professional training, I have been blessed to cross paths with many wise humans in my life.  Some have been personal friends, mentors, and brief teachers; while others, their books have been transformative in my view of the world.  All of them inform my work, however, what I offer is my personal tapestry of them all woven together through my lived experience.

My way of seasonal, cyclical living is informed by the ecological and biological cycles of Mother Nature, the Medicine Wheel, the Celtic Wheel of the Year, Traditional Chinese Medicine & Five Element Theory, Biodynamic and permaculture gardening principles, and ‘Step System’ tropical astrology.

These are some of the teachers, Elders, and books I have been blessed to learn from:

Zelda Hotaling (healing with drum and rattles); David Winston; Dr. Jody Noe; Irene Lyon, “A Shift in Being” (Leon Vanderpol); “Braiding Sweetgrass” (Robin Wall Kimmerer, PhD); “Sand Talk: How Indigenous Thinking Can Save the World” (Dr. Tyson Yunkaporta); “Restoring the Kinship Worldview” (Arrows and Dr. Narvaez); “Astrology for the Soul” (Jan Spiller); “Bach Flower Essences and Chinese Medicine” (Pablo Noriega); “Floral Acupuncture” (Croydon & Bellows); “Plant Spirit Medicine” (Eliot Cowan); “Soul Retrieval” (Sandra Ingerman); “Energetic Herbalism” (Kat Maier), “Sacred Earth Celebrations” (Glennie Kindred); the books of Brene Brown; “Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle” (Drs. E & A Nagoski); the books of Joseph M. Marshall III; “The Wind is My Mother” (Bear Heart); “Belonging: Remembering Ourselves Home” (Toko-pa Turner); “The Wheel of the Year as an Earth-based Spiritual Psychology for Women” (Kim Duckett, PhD); Step System Astrology (Christopher Witecki); “The 5 Personality Patterns (Dr. Steven Kessler); “The Tao of Trauma” (Duncan & Kain).
